You may have noticed how I sometimes talk about my online maths and physics classes. I’ve been doing these GCSE Masterclass courses on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday evenings since November last year (2020). The courses are provided by the Liverpool University Maths Specialist School. At first I was anxious that I was going to be behind everyone else because I’ve never done any maths or physics before(!), but soon I realised that I’m having no trouble keeping up. For maths, we’ve been using these ancient Victorian textbooks, which has proven quite amusing sometimes. I will do a post with a few choice extracts soon.

I was also doing a computer science course with the Liverpool Maths School, but I wasn’t quite so keen on that, I think because I prefer more abstract thinking to practical stuff! The teachers have all been amazing, very supportive, helpful, funny and welcoming. My mum has been looking into some similar courses for subjects I “enjoy more”, like English and history, but so far I’ve been really enjoying the maths and physics ones with Damian, Colin and Dave 🙂
