Monday
It’s 2022!! Over last weekend I got ready for a brand new year by restarting my bullet journal. I spent ages this evening writing out a huge fitness tracker, with workouts taken from six exercise apps I installed! Tilly’s going to join in with me and it’s going to be so much fun.
On Monday, my mum and I started reading the Aeneid, partly for our ancient history work, partly for my Latin GCSE (I have to analyse a passage from it) and partly just for fun!
Tuesday
I’ve been spending a long time looking at universities recently, particularly ones in America. I’m an avid reader of the Hillsdale Collegian and Imprimis! I’m so happy there’s at least one college out there that isn’t completely blue-haired crazy. But I’ve also found a new college that hasn’t actually been built yet (but will be by the time I apply) called The University of Austin. It’s founded by some people I already knew about, like the wonderful Ayaan Hirsi Ali and also the former president of St John’s College, another one I’ve been looking into.
Anyways – I just thought I’d update everyone briefly on my uni plan!
I’ve been trying to cut down on sugar lately, and managed to go completely sugar-free today! I’ve also been doing a lot of exercise and ticking it off on my cool bujo tracker.
Today, we read some of the Aeneid, did some biology (stem cells) and my instruments.
Wednesday, Thursday & Friday
These days were all pretty much the same in terms of my work – I read a book of the Aeneid every day, did my instruments (and even gave my mum a piano lesson the other day!), read Infidel, wrote my story, did some biology and Latin and stuff too. I also started watching a Massolit MOOC on forensic psychology 😅
My mum and I make a meal plan on Thursday and went to the shops to get the ingredients. I’m super excited to do loads of healthy cooking over the coming weeks! On Thursday night we had sausage and olive pasta, and for today’s (Friday’s) lunch I’m going to make potato salad 😋
Weekend
My mum made a roast dinner on Saturday! It wasn’t ready until about 3pm, as we waited for nanny to come round. I fasted until then so I’d be really hungry for that massive lunch! As indeed I was. It was really delicious – we had carrots, parsnips, sprouts, peas, roast potatoes, chicken and gravy. We’re planning on making one every Saturday now (not Sunday, as nanny can’t get the bus then!).
On Sunday, I did some art all morning, and in the afternoon we went to our friends’ house. They live in this super cool old building that used to be the servants’ quarters in the grounds of a huge manor, which their friends live in. It’s so cool inside but also very drafty! We played games and chatted and had loads of fun.
